Google Earth
Downloading Google Earth has already been successful in Social Studies classes. It allows students to gain some perspective of geographic direction, proportion, and landmarks. It also enables tracing of explorers' footsteps.
The views expressed on this blog are my own and do NOT represent views of staff and students from I.S. 339, I.S. 219, the NYC DOE, A.U.S.S.I.E. or any other entity.
I hop time zones for a living, as I live in Australia but do much of my work either online or on-site in New York. They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and my online consultancy certainly requires some very creative use of freely available technologies.
